Catering guide
A taco bar without the last-minute scramble.
Start with your people and your schedule. A clear brief helps any caterer recommend the right package and give you a useful quote.
- Count the guests. Tell the caterer how many adults and children are eating, whether this is a full meal, and whether guests will return for seconds. Ask how their package translates into portions.
- Share the date, address, and meal time. Include building access, parking, elevators, and who will meet the driver. Separate arrival time from the time food needs to be ready.
- Choose the service format. A taco bar lets guests assemble their own plates. Individual boxes simplify distribution. Ask who sets up, serves, and cleans up.
- Collect dietary needs early. Ask about ingredients, separate utensils, and kitchen cross-contact. Confirm arrangements with the caterer instead of relying on a menu label alone.
- Request the full price. Get food, delivery, service, setup, equipment, disposables, tax, and any gratuity in one written quote. A lower per-person menu price may not mean a lower final bill.
- Confirm the details in writing. Check headcount deadlines, deposits, cancellation terms, and the contact for day-of changes. Ask the caterer for food holding and leftover instructions.
